Equally beautiful is the Olympic Park with the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Tower. A leisurely walk around the Olympic Lake is especially recommended at sunrise and sunset. With a rented boat you can also row across the lake or take a tour of the Olympic Stadium.

A great view over the whole of Munich is offered by the Olympic Tower at a height of almost 200 meters.

As in any other big city, you can discover Munich with a Hop-On Hop-Off bus. At your own pace, you have the opportunity to explore Munich's most famous places and sights. At the different stops of the respective bus provider, you can get on and off as often as you like.

Typical points include Königsplatz, Hofgarten, Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Frauenkirche, Isar or Odeonsplatz.

Classic viewpoints over Munich: Old Peter

Besides the already mentioned Olympic Tower, there are other great viewpoints. Behind the Marienplatz is the Old Peter the oldest parish church with its 56-meter-high viewing platform. The church of St. Peter carries a lot of history with it, which is why the platform can only be reached on foot via 300 steps. However, the view is well worth it! Admission to climb the tower costs about 5€ for adults.

Munich has many beautiful events to offer in the summer, which are worth a visit. An absolute classic is the Auer Dult, which takes place about 3 times a year. Both children and adults will discover the right booth for themselves here. Good to know: Family Day is always on Tuesday with reduced prices in the fairground section!

The classics among the events in Munich: Tollwood Festival

Also a festival awaits you, which is even a Munich original! Every six months, the Tollwood Festival takes place in the Olympiapark or the Theresienwiese. Many musicians show their skills on stage. Well-known artists like Adel Tawil, Nico Santos, and Silbermond have already been on stage.

Classic Munich Beer Gardens: at the Viktualienmarkt

Not quite as huge, but also a popular meeting place to drink a wheat beer is the beer garden at the Viktualienmarkt. Its central location also makes it a go-to spot for both locals and visitors to Munich. Incidentally, this beer garden does not belong to any brewery, which means that various Munich breweries take turns serving beer about every six weeks.
