In 2024, the municipality of Kirchheim near Munich invites visitors to the State Garden Show in its new local park and proves that urban development and the creation of new green space can be wonderfully combined. "Growing together." is accordingly the motto of the first Bavarian State Garden Show in the district of Munich. The opening of the more than 100,000 square meter open-air site will be celebrated by the Kirchheim State Garden Show from May 15 to October 6, 2024 With daily programs for all ages and tastes, with sports and games, leisure, gastronomy and culture in a unique environment.

So much nature - very close to the city

In addition, about 90 exhibitors will present their ideas on nature and environmental protection, garden design, landscaping, climate protection and environmental education, providing a wealth of new inspiration for visitors to the State Garden Show. School classes are welcome in the "School in the Green" and a program of events for all the senses invites you to discover the Kirchheim State Garden Show anew every day.

The spheres of nature spaces

The structure of the park is inspired by the idea of 5 spheres of nature. These spheres are divided into the natural habitats of forest, garden, wilderness, water and meadow. An access loop connects the park parts, resulting in a figure eight shape, hence the nickname "the eight".
In the "forest" sphere, visitors will find the climbing playground for children and teenagers. Locally, it is adjacent to the existing piece of forest with an additional created open space. On the hill, in good weather, one can see as far as the Alps.
The area north of the state road will become the sphere "Garden". Here many delicious fruits can be tasted through fruit trees, shrubs and perennials.
In the sphere "Wilderness" will be five islands, which invite both to rest and relaxation and sports activities.
The new park lake, located in the north near the town hall and new civic hall, will belong to the sphere "Water". There will be a lawn for relaxation in the western shore area. The water feature in front of the town hall will provide entertainment.
The sphere "Meadow" is located in the south of the park area and provides a habitat for insects and other animals. Sports equipment is provided here for free use, as well as an intergenerational meeting place for all ages.
