The Kunsthalle Munich
With around 350,000 visitors a year, the Kunsthalle München is one of the most renowned exhibition venues in Germany. Located in the heart of Munich's city center, it hosts three major exhibitions a year on a wide range of topics, from painting, sculpture and graphic art to photography, crafts, design and fashion. Monographic exhibitions and thematic projects alternate, but interdisciplinary approaches also find their place in the versatile program of the Kunsthalle München.
“Digital by Nature. The Art of Miguel Chevalier” September 12, 2025 – March 1, 2026
With Digital by Nature, the Kunsthalle München presents Miguel Chevalier's largest solo exhibition in Europe to date. Since the 1980s, the artist has been exploring the computer as a creative medium, using new technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI). At the same time, his work engages in a continuous dialogue with art and cultural history. Even though it is rooted in the digital realm, the sensory experience in real space remains an indispensable part of Miguel Chevalier's work.
The exhibition brings together around 120 works from all phases of the artist's career, including several works created especially for the presentation at the Kunsthalle München. On display are sculptures and drawings created with the aid of 3D printing and robotics, as well as videos and installations. In these generative spatial experiences, algorithms continuously generate new images with which visitors can interact through their movements." (kunsthalle-muc.de)
