The treasure house of Isarwinkel's cultural history

Even from the outside, the Bad Tölz town museum is magnificent to look at, with its double-gabled façade and elaborate Lüftlmalerei paintings. The former town hall was redesigned by Gabriel von Seidl in the so-called Heimatstil style. The history of Bad Tölz comes to life on three floors.

Experience rooms on 800m²

The museum houses collections of outstanding quality and supra-regional relevance in an architectural jewel. Exquisite objects such as the Toerring-Seefeld gala portechaise were already on display here when it opened in 1886. Since 1982, the collection and exhibition have been housed in the Bürgerbräu building (former town hall) on Marktstraße. This was renovated by the renowned architect Gabriel von Seidl from 1903 in the Heimatstil style.
