Wendelsteinbahn - Cable Car and Rack Railway

The cogwheel railway or cable car takes you to one of Bavaria’s most beautiful and diverse scenic peaks, the 1,838-meter-high Wendelstein. Munich Carnival 2026

June 4–7, 2026

Inspired by Berlin’s Carnival of Cultures, Munich will also host a vibrant carnival festival from June 4–7! Their mission is simple: to celebrate our differences, bring our community together, and create space for authentic cultural expression. Just like in Berlin, they’ll transform the streets into a stage for infectious rhythms, lively dances, and genuine encounters.

40 Hours of Gasteig for the 40th Anniversary

June 5 and 6, 2026

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Gasteig HP8 has organized a cultural festival that will run for 40 hours straight from June 5 to June 6.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. in Hall E with breakfast under a giant disco ball! Then, for 40 hours straight, until 2 a.m. on Sunday, there will be all kinds of entertainment, from workshops, DJs, and dancing to movies and concerts. Admission is free.

Munich's 868th Anniversary

June 13 and June 14, 2026

This year’s theme for Munich’s City Birthday is “A Celebration of the Neighborhoods,” and it will once again transform the Old Town into a huge festival zone featuring music, dancing, beer gardens, arts and crafts, family activities, city tours, and hands-on activities. Admission is free! The festivities kick off on June 13 at 10:30 a.m. The events will take place between Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz, Rindermarkt, Alter Hof, and Sendlinger Straße.

Christopher Street Day in Munich

June 26–28, 2026

This year, Christopher Street Day Munich will take place from June 26–28. CSD serves as a political demonstration by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, inter, and queer people (LGBTIQ) for equal rights and social acceptance, taking the form of a colorful festival. This year’s motto is “Our Diversity. Our Strength." And, of course, there will be a parade again this year on Saturday, June 27. Admission is free. The three-day Pride Mile is located on Ludwigstraße, which replaces the festival at Marienplatz.

Blade Night Munich 2026

May 4 through September 14, 2026, every Monday

At Blade Night Munich, inline skating enthusiasts gather on about 20 summer evenings (weather permitting) for a tour through the city. The starting and finishing point is always Bavariapark, in front of the Verkehrszentrum at the Deutsches Museum. The route varies depending on the date, but the distance is always between 13.5 and 21.3 kilometers. Participation is free, but donations are welcome. Participants should be able to skate and brake safely and have sufficient stamina for the respective route.
