Summer break has finally arrived in Bavaria, too! We’ve put together 5 tips for summer break and activities for teens in two blog posts just for you.
If you’re in the mood for a festival, why not check out the Summer Festival at the Olympic Park or Theatron MusikSommer? Or on August 4 at the Gärtnerjahrtag in downtown Munich, where a colorful parade awaits you.
Our Partner of the Month is the Kunsthalle München with the exhibition “Haar.Macht.Lust.”. Especially on hot days, you can escape the midday heat here and marvel at just how fascinating the topic of “hair” can be!
If you’re feeling more like being outdoors, you can rent a SUP or kayak at the Olympic Park or even take a trip to Lake Tegernsee and enjoy amazing views of the Alps on the Wallbergbahn.

Summerfestival at Olympiapark
Until August 23rd

Gärtnerjahrtag in München
August 4th
Want to experience a bit of authentic Munich tradition? Every year at the Gärtnerjahrtag, gardeners and florists parade from the Viktualienmarkt to the Alter Peter in decorated horse-drawn carriages, buggies, tractors, and with plenty of flowers. There’s also brass band music and—best of all—flowers for the spectators. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. and is one of Munich’s oldest traditions—a great opportunity to get to know Munich from its traditional side. And best of all: watching costs you not a cent!

Theatron MusikSommer im Olympiapark
Until August 22nd
Are you in the mood for live music under the open sky, but don’t want to pay for expensive concert tickets? Then head over to Theatron MusikSommer! On the steps in front of the Olympic Lake, you can settle in with a picnic blanket, listen to various bands, and relax as you enjoy the summer evening. The lineup is diverse, admission is free, and the atmosphere in the Olympiapark makes the whole event a real summer highlight.
